For this weekend’s MINT Makerspace Grand Opening event I put together an animated promo / poster on trinket.io website. The viewer can see the Python program code side-by-side with the logos being drawn for The Mint Makerspace and Rutland Mini Maker Faire logos (joint event). For some Mint-y “eye candy”:

Trinket.io provides Python coding capability in a browser, so there is no need to install Python on laptop or PC. Trinket also has capability for HTML coding and simple music composition in browser. Trinket.io also has tutorials for Python and HTML. Python trinkets can also be viewed on tablets and smartphones. So you can learn to code or read Python code from your phone! Python is a popular coding language and is used on the Raspberry Pi computer. If you are involved in a Makerspace community, Python is a handy language to learn.
Besides providing a link to share a Python “trinket”, you can also get the code to embed the Python trinket in a web page, similar to how you can embed a YouTube video or Scratch program. The embed code provided by Trinket.io is wrapped in a iframe tag.
If you are in the neighborhood of Rutland, VT this Saturday, August 12 from noon – 5PM, stop by and check out Grand Opening of The MINT Makerspace and the Rutland Mini Maker Faire.
